This is an emerging mantra in product strategy, that seeks to help teams focus on delivering measurable changes in user behaviour rather than fixating on the things they produce: Screens or features.
Working for a cloud-based Telehealth provider in the UK (Babylon Health currently valued at around US$ 500 million), I want to talk about teams I worked with, and how started focusing on outcomes, began to change how we worked.
For cloud-based software, it’s often easy to focus on the tech. And with fast deployments, we were often doing ‘CEO driven development’ where our roadmaps changed to integrate new technology such as AI and NLP.
In this talk, I will give examples about how could-based software teams reframed the problems we were set and how the approach we took to translated fuzzy, high-level business goals into user outcomes. This touches everything from team autonomy, ways of working and delivery of cloud-based products and services.
